{"id":4814,"date":"2025-09-22T08:37:33","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T06:37:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novae.ch\/actualite\/novae-foundation\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T10:56:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T08:56:10","slug":"novae-foundation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/novae.ch\/en\/actualite\/novae-foundation\/","title":{"rendered":"Novae Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#e40477\" class=\"has-inline-color\">&gt;a sustainable, united future based on action<\/mark><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background has-text-align-center wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/novae.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/presentation_la-fondation-novae-1..pdf\" style=\"background-color:#e40477\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">View the Novae Foundation presentation brochure<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:69px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How did the Foundation come to be created?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Over the years, Novae has supported a range of solidarity initiatives, from support for local agriculture and running return-to-work programmes to fighting food waste and donating foodstuffs.<\/p>\n\n<p>In September 2025, a new milestone was reached with the creation of the <strong>Novae Foundation<\/strong>, now officially registered as an entity.<\/p>\n\n<p>Its <strong>goal <\/strong>is to amplify these initiatives by:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>developing new partnerships,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>trying out new forms of social action,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>extending initiatives to other cantons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>To ensure both independence and efficiency, the Foundation has its own governance structure and dedicated budget, funded through a grant from Novae.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Foundation&#8217;s three core missions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong>Novae Foundation<\/strong> focuses its efforts around three key pillars:<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>1- Preserving and promoting a local, responsible agricultural model<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Since its beginnings, Novae has nurtured strong ties with the world of farming and local artisans. <strong>Proximity <\/strong>is one of our fundamental values, evidenced in tangible initiatives such as the<strong> local agricultural heritage support fund<\/strong> launched in 2016. <\/p>\n\n<p>As such, it&#8217;s only natural that the Foundation continues this commitment. The aim is to<strong> support sustainable agricultural production<\/strong>, and to encourage the creation of new production methods and new products among farms. <\/p>\n\n<p>We firmly believe that in order to <strong>provide healthy, sustainable food, working closely with local agricultural and artisan experts is essential<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>&gt;And we act on our words, a key example being the launch of the very <strong>first organic vegetable processing facility (l\u00e9gumerie) in French-speaking Switzerland<\/strong>, in partnership with market gardener Keuffer. The l\u00e9gumerie makes use of out-of-spec produce and helps reduce food waste.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:19px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>2. Promoting inclusion in the catering industry<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>At Novae, our restaurants and kitchens are far more than places where food is made: they are welcoming spaces where people can connect.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Foundation aims to harness this full potential to foster inclusion through:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Shared meals to end isolation<\/em><\/strong>: creating social connections and strengthening a sense of community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Training and return-to-work programmes<\/em><\/strong>: helping jobseekers or those changing careers to gain hands-on skills and find long-term employment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Welcoming people with disabilities<\/em><\/strong>: some of our restaurants already have a strong presence of those living with disabilities in their teams. The Foundation\u2019s goal is to increase and expand this part of our culture. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In short, the Novae Foundation turns the catering profession into a genuine driver of social inclusivity, combining training, job opportunities, and moments of togetherness.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3- <strong><em>Combating food waste<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The fight against food waste is a<strong> major challenge for the environment<\/strong>.
